Palm Springs Getaway: Guide

For the longest time, I never really thought of Palm Springs being a vacation spot that I would want to visit. I always thought of Palm Springs as a place you would drive through, but never really stop to get out of the car and explore. It wasn’t until one of my friends said, “We need to plan a Palm Springs trip together.” I thought, “why?” I’m not much of a golfer, and it’s too cold to swim in November. However, I trusted her knowing that I could literally go anywhere with her, and we would always have a good time.

THE SAGUARO

We arrived around 6 o’clock Saturday evening. After pounding down a couple glasses of wine in the room, we headed out to explore downtown. Needless to say, we needed food! The good thing about Palm Springs is, all the food is delicious! Our first stop, The Saguaro Hotel. The Saguaro is a great spot for photo ops and watermelon margaritas! Not to mention, they make a mean grilled cheese! https://thesaguaro.com/palm-springs/

BOOTLEGGER TIKI

We ended the night in tropical paradise, a tiny hole in the wall pub called, Bootlegger Tiki. This bar makes the most amazing fruity cocktails. Be careful though, because they are strong! So sip slowly, and enjoy fully. https://www.bootleggertiki.com/

THE SANDS HOTEL AND SPA

The next morning, we enjoyed brunch at The Pink Cabana located in The Sand Hotel and Spa. I’m just going to start out by saying, this is the cutest hotel I have ever stepped foot in. From the pink building, to the chic wallpaper, it was absolutely fabulous! https://sandshotelandspa.com/

ARIEL TRAMWAY

After an amazing brunch/photo session, we made our way over to the Ariel tramway. It was amazing to see desert views towards the bottom of the mountain, and views of the forest at the top. Since we went at the beginning of November, we saw several fall colors on the trees! Lets just say, fall being my favorite season, and being from Phoenix where seasons don’t exist, seeing those trees was one of the highlights of the trip! https://www.pstramway.com/

THIRTEEN FORTY FIVE

Once we were back to original ground level, we agreed our Palm Springs vacation would not be complete until we went shopping! Palm Springs being the chic hipster town that it is, has several art stores that are so much fun to look at. I recommend checking out The shops at Thirteen Forty Five and SHAG the store. http://theshopsat1345.com/

#THATPINKDOOR

Another fun activity to do in Palm Springs, that is absolutely free, is to drive around neighborhoods. I know I sound like a crazy person, but #thatpinkdoor has over 8,300 IG posts! The owners of the house recently put up no trespassing signs, because people were going into their yard to take pictures, so please be respectful. Another fun house to look at is Elvis’s Honeymoon Hideaway. Elvis and Priscilla honeymooned here May 1, 1967. They offer tours inside the house $35 per person. http://elvishoneymoon.com/

AZUCAR

That night we ate dinner at Azucar Restaurant and Bar. Again, another Palm Springs meal that did not disappoint. Cute decor, delicious food, and a rooftop patio! What’s not to love? http://azucarpalmsprings.com/

That following morning, we ate brunch at Norma’s inside The Parker hotel. Get your picture in front of the orange door. #thatorangedoor yes, I am starting a new trend lol. But seriously, brunch at Norma’s was the perfect way to end our perfect trip! https://www.parkerpalmsprings.com/home/
